Excellent!

This trade edition of the original letterpress book is fantastic. The format is three accordion fold booklets in a clear plastic sleeve. In the story, the dictionary becomes a character, and words in the story begin to act out their meanings. Sam Winston has a really original way of representing language and reading. This book is would appeal to all ages. I bought three copies-- it's definitely a collector's item.

To base an entire chapter on the express industry under a university shipment race is not a proper analysis, other chapters were just showpieces promoting their own agendas, overall not worth the fifty dollars and had expected a lot more for my hard earned money

About the Author
H. Michael Newman began working in the facilities group at Cornell University in the 1970s after ten years in the aviation industry. He is currently the Manager of Cornell University's Building Automation and Control Systems Integration group within Facilities Services and an ASHRAE Fellow and Life Member. In the control systems industry, he is known as "the Father of BACnet." He presided as the chairman of the effort to create the BACnet standard and has been involved with updates and improvements ever since.

The author, Michael Newman is considered to be the grandfather of BACnet, after many years he has kept pace with the development of his original idea. There are few who can claim such an accomplishment. The book is an easy read for anyone with an interest in automation protocols and from an unbiased source.

I bought this book so I could understand and write code to the standard. However it does not provide much information about it. If you really want to know about the programming aspect, Buy a book on ASN.1 and the standard itself. This book would only be worth while if it was $20 or so.

Marissa's story of Anna began with a dream about being kidnapped with Adam Savage from Mythbusters (Yes, really). Over the next year and a half, it morphed into the story that is now known as "The Life of Anna." She has several other stories in progress, one of which is based on her kidnapped dream. When she's not writing or editing, Marissa is taking care of two young boys, training to be an astronaut, running her household, wrestling with gorillas, playing around on Facebook, promoting whirled peas, and busting her tush for her accounting degree. So Many Changes. Yet, Nothing's Changed.

"The Life of Anna" is one of the most disturbing dark erotica series I've ever read. I love stories with a dark, disturbing edge to them, so this series is right up my alley. In many ways, this third book seemed lighter than earlier books. There is far more romance and "feel good" moments. The few dark scenes were really disturbing, but there weren't as many as in the first two books.

As the series progresses, I'm finding myself getting irritated with Anna though. Yes, she's been terribly victimized since her childhood and manipulated. However, I still struggle with the fickleness of her emotional attachments. I mean, how many different guys can she possibly fall in love with over the course of a few books? Every time I blink she seems to have a new love interest. It gets to a point where it just seems disingenuous and exhausting.

Also, how many times is she going to suffer horribly at Devin's cruel hands, only to turn around and forget about it? I know she's his slave, but does that mean she has to be such a dim-wit? You know the saying, "Fool me once...". Seriously, does anything this sicko does surprise her any more?

The light in Anna's grim life continues to be Alex. (Sigh.) God, what I wouldn't give to clone that man! As always, he is hard at work to save Anna from the miserable hand she's been dealt in life. He offers her a life she'd only ever imagined and it is great while it lasts. Although, I'm not at all convinced that it's over.

As usual, Devin is the epitome of evil. Look up villain in the dictionary and you'll see Devin. He is a vile, despicable beast. Ms. Honeycutt could not have dreamed up a more convincing monster. He is the quintessential bad guy and continues to shock me with his cruelty and lack of humanity.

Despite my growing frustrations with Anna, this series continues to be original and compelling. It is unlike anything I've ever read and continues to push my boundaries. Hats-off to Ms. Honeycutt for creating such a captivating story. Like a tragic accident in the making, I couldn't look away if I tried. I am enthralled.

I've been anxiously awaiting this next installment in the Life of Anna series. This erotic paranormal story has intrigued me and I devoured this next piece of Anna's story. Just when it seems the puzzle pieces are fitting together, the story is turned upside down. Note, this is not a standalone and its a seriously twisted and fascinating tale that is addicting.

As this story continues, Anna moves on with her limited life. She is dancing and pursuing relationships while trying to keep her social life separate from the life that Devin has destined for her. Being romanced and loved by Ben, she had the illusion of peace and harmony. Sadly, Devin is still the same evil, power hungry man who has other plans for her. He seeks domination in business as well as complete and unfettered control over people and is willing to sacrifice Anna in that pursuit.

Alex strives to learn how to save Anna from Devin. After so long away, Anna harbors a lot of anger towards him. He forces her to visit Germany, by her obligation for her Master. Alex gives her a bit of control, of her present and her future. She learns more about the role of Elder-Mistress over her role as Sex-slave. We get to know Alex, Wilhelm and Kurt much better and even learn much more about the Immortals, both evil and kind.

After so much turmoil and pain in Anna's life, things find a calm. Somewhere in the middle of this calm, I think the story went a bit dull. It makes me sad to admit that I missed the angst, the grief and the torture. That feeling ended quickly when Alex must leave on a mission and Devin puts his evil plans back in motion.

The last 30% of this book were quite shocking and absolutely unexpected. Why do I believe things aren't what they seem to be? My heart breaks for Anna. For what she has endured and for the place she is left. More, I need more!

After finishing I really don't know what to say I am going to try and do this review spoiler free

The first half of this book is Kind of Calm to what we have read in the first 2 books but the stuff that happened made me annoyed I was shouting at my kindle I had to put it down and walk away for a break Just when we think Anna will be happy Bam Devin does his thing and hurts her She tries to cope with it the best she can Then Alex comes in and well……. I was so happy at this point of the book really happy and I thought Yes He will not let that Evil Devin hurt her again but Happiness just isn't in the cards for poor Anna Just when you think they are both Happy BAM! Devin comes back even worse than before he is a Monster he made me sick in this book how much more can you put someone through My heart Broke for Anna bit time in the book and all she wanted was Alex and well…… you will have to read it to find out what happens This book is such a rollercoaster of a ride People will leave, others return and there will even be some casualties that'll make you go NOOOOOO WAYYYYYY and WHY JUST WHY!

I felt loads of emotions through this book and by the end I was just speechless and I can't wait for book 4

Alex is hotter than hot in this book I love him

Devin is more sadistic than ever he is pure Evil at its best he is a MONSTER and he shows it in this book

Anna Poor Anna I don't know if to shout at her shake her then hug her and take her away from it all my heart is breaking for her

Love Alex father in this one and Kurt too

About the Author
Frederic L. Pryor received his Ph.D. in economics from Yale University. Although his primary base for more than 35 years has been Swarthmore College, Pennsylvania, he has also taught or carried out research at the University of Michigan, the University of California, the University of Indiana, Yale University, and several universities in Switzerland and France. His academic writings include 13 books in the field of economic systems and more than 120 articles in professional journals. As a consultant, Professor Pryor has held a variety of positions for the World Bank, the State of Pennsylvania, the Danish government, several departments of the US government, the Soros International Economic Advisory Group, the Hoover Institution, the Brookings Institution, and the Wissenschaftzentrum Berlin. At present he is a Senior Research Scholar at Swarthmore College. He also serves on the boards of several non-profit institutions.

Excellent Introduction to Botany

This book is a must for anyone seriously interested in learning about plants and their relation to the other living kingdoms. It is richly illustrated and covers material clearly and in-depth. I have used the first edition for over eight years as 1) a good read and 2) a reference that continues to inform me as a serious gardener as well as an educated layman. The book emphasizes the evolutionary adaptative aspects of plants to their environment. Starting from the basics of chemistry, it covers plant anatomy, physiology, genetics, and taxonomy. It is a wonderful resource.

Thsi book was a perfect bookb for someone who wants to know the straight facts about Botany. For example, a college student might enjoy useing this book because it is packed with so much information.

This was our text for Bis. 1C (Winter 98) at U.C. Davis. The book was well illustrated, but was far too in-depth for an intro course. I found lecture notes more useful.
