About the Author
Joseph C. Shusko is a decorated veteran who served the United States Marine Corps for over 35 years. He is an accomplished aviator who spent the majority of his career flying helicopters. While serving as a White House Liaison Officer (WHLO) at HMX-1, he was designated a Presidential Helicopter Pilot under the Reagan Administration. In August of 2003 he assumed command of the Marine Corps Martial Arts Center of Excellence. He now serves as the Deputy of the Marine Corps Martial Arts Center of Excellence overseeing the Corps' Martial Arts Program. He is also a Stafford, VA Sheriff Department Volunteer Officer. Joe has taught "Values" throughout the United States and abroad. He has instructed and participated in martial arts and physical fitness since the early 1970's. Joe earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Rider College. He is also a 3rd Degree Instructor Trainer in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program.

The collection of vignettes along with the author's personal notes are very inspirational. Motivational stories both poignant and meaningful abound in this book. Well worth it for young and old readers alike!!

Almost too useful

I work as a Crime Prevention Officer in a large metropolitan police department. I purchased this book after attending the RGI Conflict Resolution Skills Course as the book was featured during the training.
After returning to work and sharing this book with several co-workers, I now find myself constantly searching for it. They are constantly borrowing it to read for themselves and to use in presentations. It has become an invaluable resource for us as we train the community and fellow officers.
This collection of short meaningful tales does an invaluable job, helping to teach values and morals. Think of it this way, what would be more effective with an audience; Telling them to be respectful of each other or sharing an entertaining short story that demonstrates that value in action?

Wonderful book of Values and beliefs

My daughter is in Marine boot camp and wrote me and asked to get this book and send her pages to read with my letters I send her. As I read the pages I sent to her I realized this is a great book not only for my daughter who is going through the hardest toughest thing she has ever done, but it would be a great book for other people in my life I wanted everyone to read it. I ending up buying 4 more books to send to family and friends what a wonderful gift to give. I will be purchasing more to send to people that I love.
